Administrative Customization

This level of customization provides the most basic of cosmetic changes however it is very easy to achieve through the user interface and requires no programming knowledge.

Please note, If you are using the full layout customization, any changes made through the administrative customization may be ignored depending on your implementation.

Changing the Banner Image

The banner image is shown at the top of each screen in the customer chat client.

By default the banner image displays the Web Agent Chat logo.

To change this:

  • Log into the agent portal dashboard using an admin account.
  • Click the Admin button in the menu bar at the top right.
  • Click the link "Customization"
  • Find the box called "Banner Image"
  • Click "Add File" and locate a suitable image from your computer. We advise using an image that is at least 100px tall and 300px long for best results.
  • Click "Update"

Changing the Offline Email

The offline email is displayed to customers when the chat is offline and when the customer is waiting for an agent.

By default the offline email will be the email address of the primary admin who set up Web Agent Chat.

To change this:

  • Log into the agent portal dashboard using an admin account.
  • Click the Admin button in the menu bar at the top right.
  • Click the link "Customization"
  • Find the box called "Offline Email"
  • Enter a new email for which you would like customers to use
  • Click "Update"

Changing the Welcome Message

You can provide a custom welcome message for your customers.

By default this message is a generic welcome message applicable to all organisations.

  • Log into the agent portal dashboard using an admin account.
  • Click the Admin button in the menu bar at the top right.
  • Click the link "Customization"
  • Find the box called "Welcome Message"
  • Enter a new welcome message. Only plain text may be used up to 255 letters.
  • Click "Update"
